Linkin Park’s From Zero World Tour

STURDY. and All of it Now crafted two entirely unique visual shows for Linkin Park in the alt-rock legends’ return to the stage.

Linkin Park’s surprise-return world tour kicked off with an exclusive launch show at Warner Bros. Studios on 5 September 2024. This invitation-only event, primarily for Linkin Park Underground fan club members, allowed the band to reconnect intimately with their most dedicated followers. STURDY. and All of it Now collaborated on the visual design for both the launch and tour.

The launch show featured an LED ceiling and transparent LEDs to conceal lighting fixtures while allowing beams to shine through. Notch Designer Vishal Sharma noted, “With Notch 1.0, we could easily render a million particles in real time—even in the limited setting of the launch show.”

Transitioning to arena shows presented new challenges with non-standard displays, using massive cubes as canvases. While developing the Notch creative, the team shifted from a 16:9 aspect ratio to a 5K unwrapped cube with a multi-input block, resulting in seamless visuals across all LED surfaces and unique angles.

The band encouraged total creative freedom, allowing the team to push the limits of abstraction. This resulted in innovative visuals like an X-ray of the stage structure overlaid on band members’ faces. The creative team even developed interactive visuals that band members could control in real time during performances. As All of it Now’s Berto Mora explained, “We exposed a variety of parameters, enabling control through MIDI and the MA3 console.”

Both the launch show and tour effectively captured Linkin Park’s nostalgic past and ushered in their newest chapter, new band and album in tow.

“Notch’s live editing capabilities allowed for an extremely experimental process that kept the collaboration exciting.”
