Dom Dolla & John Summit at Coachella 2024

After a successful tour with Dom Dolla, The Unlimited Dream Company created visuals for his collaboration with John Summit at Coachella 2024.

After The Unlimited Dream Company created visuals for Dom Dolla’s 2024 tour, they were given the opportunity to do something entirely different for the producer/DJ’s Coachella performance with John Summit. With a brief to create a unified aesthetic representing both artists while referencing their individual styles, the team worked alongside Creative Director Emile Frederick to develop a vision exploring duality and balance within infinity.

Their creative direction presented a harmonious relationship between minimalism and maximalism, representing the two artists and their shows’ impact. Spearheading the video content, the Unlimited Dream Company used Notch, Cinema 4D, Unreal Engine, and After Effects to bring their ideas to life. They used Notch’s Virtual Background feature to integrate the artist’s live camera feed into the minimalist compositions, creating an expressive collage effect.

Throughout the process, they found Notch vital in visually articulating both minimalism and maximalism. They considered Notch’s real-time rendering capabilities essential for generating the intense visual complexity of the maximalist sections while also aiding in rapidly iterating ideas for percussively reactive minimalist elements.

The show was designed specifically for Coachella’s stage and screen and followed a visual arc that implied a narrative one, transitioning from the simplest visuals to increasingly complex ones—a progression that mirrored the passage of the music and created plenty of hugely affecting moments for the crowd.
