Project Description
The Golden Hen Awards
LUPIXX pushed plenty of pixels to create a stylish ambience for performers, nominees, and other attendees of Germany’s Goldene Henne Awards.
Since 1995, German broadcasters MDR have hosted the Goldene Henne awards ceremony for those involved in media, film, music, sport, and charitable organisations. The night included performances from contemporary stars on the national and international stage, including Anastacia.
MDR asked LUPIXX to create all video content for the twenty-ninth edition last October with a request for several unique designs for each artist, tying it all together with a festive and celebratory style.
LUPIXX’s Saskia Olma and Vlad Befus worked alongside Director Carsten Seibt a few weeks before the show, using Notch’s sophisticated particle systems and LED integration capabilities to create imagery that walked the line between fun and classy in an overall lighthearted and lowkey atmosphere.
Olma said of the process, “We’ve used Notch for ninety per cent of this and all our recent projects, and we plan to use it as much as we can this year.” Video Operator Enrico Walther used several Green Hippo Hippotizer Boreal+ MK2s as their media servers. Attendees loved the immersive final effect, which blew away expectations of a typical awards broadcast.
“Notch gave us the ability to quickly react to ideas coming up from the creative team at rehearsal. It was a fun and easy workflow that allowed us the freedom to try things out without having a heavy pipeline to deal with.”
